2016 Mens Retreat

New Covenant Church Men’s 2016 Retreat

Forged in Fire Weekend

The theme for this year’s retreat is “Forged in Fire.”  We kick-off Friday evening, September 16th, continue Saturday, September 17th, and conclude early Sunday morning, September 18th. The agenda includes studying God’s Word, worship, and fellowship with Christian brothers, as well as some free time for optional activities.

If you have ever experienced the death of a loved one, the loss of a relationship, or money troubles, it’s hard to understand how any good can ever come from those and other major difficulties in life. Yet, God’s Word tells us that we will, in fact, experience various trials that will test us, with the goal being to produce steadfastness and ultimately the perfection of our faith.  At the 2016 NCC Men’s Retreat, we will begin with the precept that all of us will experience adversity and pain at one time or another, simply because we live in a fallen world.  We’ll look at what God’s Word says about the difficulties of this life, the pressure and resulting pain used to shape us for God’s intended purposes, and how we can find joy in adversity.

The retreat will once again be at the Glorieta Conference Center, located in the Sangre de Cristo mountain range of the Southern Rockies right off I-25 in Glorieta, NM (and not far from Santa Fe). Glorieta Camp is a mountainous escape that is perfect for a retreat. For more information, see http://www.glorieta.org.
